Communications Coordinator

Lives are changing in Granada!  We are seeking a Communications Coordinator with the passion and creativity to tell the everyday stories of life at REAP Granada.  The ideal candidate for this position will possess outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, maintain a positive and energetic outlook, and possess a record of proactivity to find the stories to tell.

Primary Responsibilities

The Communications Coordinator creates story content consistent with REAP’s mission and vision to share with supporters and the world.  Content is focused on sharing life from the field, increasing engagement, fostering donors, and recruiting needed staff, and is shared through social media and the REAP website and newsletter.  The Communications Coordinator ensures all media and communications outlets are kept up-to-date. 

Duties include the following:

  • Create media content through photos, videos, and written stories from ministry opportunities, including short term mission teams and the ministries involved; church and youth conferences; outreach activities; and events that take place at REAP.
  • Dedicate time in prayer to accurately portray the ministry of REAP Granada and life in our surrounding community.
  • Establish a database of all short-term missions teams and guests who visit REAP for potential future engagement opportunities.
  • Mentor other storytellers that come through REAP as part of short-term teams or programs.
  • Establish regular communication to teams and visitors about the needs and opportunities at REAP.

Qualifications

  • Professing Christian with established record of high Christian character, integrity, servant leadership, maturity, and a positive attitude.
    • Character and Integrity – strong Christian moral principles, be trustworthy, honest, fair, and display the Fruit of the Spirit in both word and action
    • Servant leadership – lead as Christ did with humility, considering the team’s needs above your own and making it your priority to develop those you serve
    • Maturity – strong spiritually, responding appropriately with respect to the time and place of every situation
    • Positive attitude – always willing to do your best with what is asked of you
  • Demonstrated capacity for excellent writing and video communication.
  • Needs to have an understanding of how to operate editing software, a camera, and understanding of the social media sites.
  • Needs to constantly seek out ways to learn and grow as social media changes and grows.
  • Desire to learn and become competent with local language and culture.
  • Demonstrated organization and prioritizing skills to manage teams, projects, and initiatives.
  • Comfortable with cross-cultural communication.
